Potty Time
We've shed a few tears this week learning how to use the potty. Auden started off apprehensive. After two days, Mooga was wondering if he was mature enough. But on day three, SUCCESS! with several successive trips to the potty including last night's effort to "pee like a man" standing up. Hilarious, but he did it. We are really proud of our bubby. He'll be out of diapers in no time and Esme's promised him that he can go to school just as soon as that happens.Six year old
They played for about 45 minutes, before it was time to decorate cupcakes.
All the big kids sat together and had a pretzel and water snack. Esme's cupcake had a candle and everyone sang happy birthday.
Auden didn't mind. He didn't even notice the kids had left the playground and he got a very special snack.
Here's Esme with her friends. Audra gave her a hula hoop. Fun. Fun.
Eva and Roen snuggled in for a photo. (Not sure what that Dad is doing in the background, but he looks like he needs deodorant!)
Marin gave a bead set. (She's a little intense after the sugar).
And Mom has a favorite present as well.
This is my favorite picture of all Esme and her friends zipping along the playground in the wagon. This may be the last year they are young enough to enjoy this place, but I see a birthday party for Auden in the near future.
On a housing note, we've finished nearly everything. Just the front doors to install, which is happening next week. We are now devoting every waking hour of free time to our yard.
The birdfeeder is the center of action. Mooga says its like a Disney movie, which is practically the truth. Spring is in full bloom with HUGE rose blossoms and flowering trees everywhere. Despite what I thought would be an awful, wet winter, it was actually mild and pleasant. You never see the sun, but the trade-off is 50 degree days with no extremes.
I'll post the full array of photos on Picasa. Thanks for reading!
