We have drywall

Construction isn't always the most interesting subject, but since most of you have asked... we have drywall!  And a few other important items:

- New windows

- Updated electrical (including removing some shady components)

- Updated plumbing

- 2x6 exterior walls (to code)

- Insulation

- Subfloors

Until now, the photos have been a bunch of 2x4 stick walls, so it's much more impressive now that we have drywall. Mooga is spending his long weekend painting (every square inch of the interior with 3 coats...)

The kitchen is being installed next week. After that we have floors and then we can move-in. We're getting out of the apartment on 12/15. 

We still have a long way to go (and I fear we will be the people hanging sheets for curtains if I don't get on the ball). 

But... without further ado, some pictures of the drywall:

A view of the open concept main room with a peak at Esme's and Auden's room. (Just to be clear...this is before the paint. Esme's room is the ugly orange/green and Auden's the hospital blue). You can't see it here, but there is a door left of Esme's room and that white linen closet which is the kid's bathroom. 

Another shot of the main room. Looking into the kitchen. It will be an L-shape with an island. Range where the ladder is and a sink in front of the window. We bought the appliances today (yeah Black Friday!)

Here's where taking photos gets hard. If you face the patio door and turn left, you walk down a hallway. The left is a family room with a pony wall. Perfect to contain kids, TV and potato chips. On the right is a pantry and a guest bathroom. Straight ahead is a laundry room that will someday serve as an entry door from the garage (when we build that...). Take a right and there is a smaller "den" which will be a guest room and then into the master suite.

The master suite. Looks unimpressive because it is hard to shoot. There is a walk-in closet and a bathroom.

I tried to capture the whole walk-through in a video. It's probably disorientating, but here goes nothing.
